The images in this gallery were all shot on one Sonoma County property, the Petaluma River Ranch. This ranch has been a landmark of transistion for over fifty years, sigaling the begnning (or end, westbound) of rural Sonoma County on Hwy 37.

I remember once in the mid-1960s when traffic was stopped for a flock of sheep to cross what was then two lane country road. Today we rush by at 70mph, hardly aware of the constantly thriving, constantly changing agricultural activity a few yards off this busy artery of Bay Area commerce and commuting.

The property was also the locus for all of Petaluma River Ranch details and most of the Machine Madness and Feral Trucks images.
